Hello, God has given me something today in 1 Samuel 14:43 which says, “But the men said to Saul, “Should Jonathan die-he who has brought about this great deliverance in Israel? Never! As surely as the Lord lives, not a hair on his head will fall to the ground, for he did this today with God’s help.” So the men rescued Jonathan, and he was not put to death.”
So, what God has given me, is that Jonathan’s life was spared, but Jesus’ life wasn’t, in other words, even though Jonathan rescued Israel from the hand’s of the Philistines, but he didn’t die, and Jesus saved us from the hand’s of the devil, and He did die, so Jesus made the full payment for our sin, and now we can go to heaven.
The men saved Jonathan’s life, and said that he saved them, but with Jesus they cried, “Crucify Him, crucify Him!” So in order for Jesus to pay for our sin, they needed to crucify Him, and the crucifixion was very brutal, so Jesus took the brutal punishment so that we didn’t need to, isn’t that amazing.
The last part of the verse says, “So the men rescued Jonathan, and he was not put to death.” but Jesus WAS put to death, and He DID save us from our sin.
