Jesus killed, so we could live?

Hello, God has given me something today in 1 Samuel 24:18 which says, “You have just now told me  of the good you did to me; the Lord delivered me into your hands, but you did not kill me.” (NIV)

So what God has given me, is, that this is Saul speaking to David here, and David has just spared Saul’s life, because, they were both in the cave together, and Saul was asleep, well the verse says to relieve himself but we can take that to meen, go to sleep, anyway, David and his men could have easily killed Saul right there, but instead David just cut of a corner of Saul’s robe, and later when Saul was walking away, David called out to Saul and  told him what had happened, and Saul no longer wanted to kill David, well not at the moment.

The picture is of Jesus on the cross, lets say that we are Saul, and we were  very sinful, (not that we aren’t already), and David is God (although God never sinned, this is a picture, a shadow, a shadow of a picture), and God could have killed us (because of our sin, not because God was running for His life), but instead put a substitute (Jesus) in the middle of His wrath, so now we can have peace, and someday live in heaven, but it is only because God spared our life, and put Jesus in our place, although David didn’t put anyone in Saul’s place, this is just a picture.

although we sin, that doesn’t meen that we should willingly sin, “But if we walk in the light as He is in the light, we have fellowship one with another, and the blood of Jesus Christ His son cleanseth us from all sin.” (1 John 1:7, KJV, I’m memorizing it that way), so we should walk in the light, as Jesus is in the light, even though we can’t be perfect, and we will stumble, we can follow Jesus, (like I said) stumbling all the way, but we can follow Him.
