Hello, God has given me something in 2 Samuel 3:33-34 which says, “The king sang this lament for Abner: Should Abner have died as the lawless die? Your hands were not bound, your feet were not fettered. You fell as one falls before wicked men.” And all the people wept over him again.” (NIV)
So, what God has given me, is, that just like Jesus, Abner had not wronged David, he had tried to help, but Joab didn’t think so, he was thinking about Asahel, who had been killed by Abner, but Jesus had done no wrong, ever, and yet we crucified, Jesus died on the cross, with our sins, so that we didn’t (and don’t) have to.
Jesus’ hands shouldn’t have been bound (Jesus was (and is) perfect) and is feet shouldn’t have been fettered, yet they were for our sake, Jesus was fettered and bound for us, so we don’t have to!
We sin, but Romans 6:1-3 says, “What shall we say then? Are we to continue in sin that grace may abound? By no means! How can we who died to sin still live in it? Do you not know that all of us who have been baptized into Christ Jesus were baptized into his death?”(ESV) So we are dead to sin, we live in it no longer because Jesus put it to death on the cross.
