Hello, God has given me something in 2 Samuel 24:18 which says,
“When David saw the angel who was striking down the people, he said to the Lord, “I am the one who had sinned and done wrong. These are but sheep. What have they done? Let your hand fall apon me and my family.”
So, what God has given me, is, that was David is a picture of Jesus, and we are the people. David was talking to God, and he’s saying that he (David) is the one who had done wrong (sinned), and he should get the punishment (at the time, the people were being stricken), and he calls the people sheep. We are Jesus’ sheep, and He is our shepherd. Mathew 26:31 says,
“Then Jesus said to them,“You will all fall away because of me this night. For it is written, ‘I will strike the shepherd, and the sheep of the flock will be scattered.'”
So Jesus is our shepherd, and then David says, (these are four new words, yay!) “What have they done?” David has just said that his people (the ones being stricken) are just sheep, and now he’s asking, “What have they done?” Because David was the one who had sinned, and Jesus was able to ask God, “What have they done?”, we are able to ask God, “What have we done?”Because Jesus died on the cross, with our sin, in our place! THANK YOU JESUS!!!!!! Jesus DID die on the cross in our place.
Now we have the words, “You shall not die.” “Who sets you free.” “Is not my house right with God?” and “What have they done?” and all of those apply to us, we don’t need to die with our sin, because Jesus did, at the cross, Jesus set us free, and because Jesus took all of our sin at the cross, then we can ask, “What have we done?”, And our house is right with God, because Jesus died for us.
Do you believe that Jesus died on the cross in our place, and that He rose again on the third day?
