Hello, God has given me something in 1 Kings 14:12 which says,
“As for you, go back home. When you set foot in your city, the boy will die.”
This is Jeroboam’s wife, and he sent her to see if the boy would die, but he told her to pretend to be someone else, and even though Ahijah (the prophet) was blind, God told him who she was, and that she was pretending to be someone else. For Jeroboam’s wife, and for Jeroboam, and the boy, this ment that the boy would die, and Ahijah goes on to say that Jeroboam’s house is going to be burned, and that someone else will rule because Jeroboam disobeyed God.
Jeroboam’s son is a picture of Jesus, the boy died, and so did Jesus, the people mourned for the boy, Jesus’ followers mourned for Jesus, the boy is a picture of Jesus, and Jesus is a picture of… wait, let me start again, Jesus died on the cross for us, and now we can go to Heaven, the boy is a picture of Jesus because he died, and he was the son, of the king (I’m not saying that God or Jesus ever sinned, is sinning, or ever will sin, they never have or will, and they aren’t sinning), Jesus died on the cross for us, with our sins, and He took on all the wrath of God.
We can’t be perfect, but we shouldn’t be like Jeroboam, and go on sinning, Romans 6:1-4 says,
“What shall we say then? Are we to continue in sin that grace may abound? By no means! How can we who died to sin still live in it? Do you not know that all of us who have been baptized into Christ Jesus were baptized into his death? We were buried therefore with him by baptism into death, in order that, just as Christ was raised from the dead by the glory of the Father, we too might walk in newness of life.”
Jesus died on the cross for us, with our sins, and He took on all the wrath of God, that would’ve been on us.
