Hello, God has given me something in 1 Kings 15:4 which says,
“nevertheless, for David’s sake the Lord his God gave him a lamp in Jerusalem by rasing up a son to succeed him and by making Jerusalem strong.”
For Israel, this ment that they wouldn’t totally be destroyed, they be saved by God. God gave Jerusalem a lamp, which reminds me of a passage that I learned one time in choir (it is in King James version), Psalm 109:105 says,
“Thy word is a lamp unto my feet, and a light unto my path.”
Jesus is our lamp, and He died on the cross for us, so that we won’t be utterly and totally destroyed. Jesus guides us with His word, and we know that Jesus is the Bible because of John 1:1 which says,
“In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God.”
Since Jesus and God are one, the Word (the Bible) is Jesus. Jesus died on the Cross in our place, so now we don’t have to die and go to hell, Jesus has given us the opportunity to go to Heaven, by dying on the cross for us!!!!!! THANK YOU JESUS!!!
I think David is a picture of the Holy-Spirit, I think he is pleading with God to give them a lamp, how is that like the Holy-Spirit you ask, in the Bible it say that the Spirit groans on our behalf.
