The sermon

Hello, the sermon today was in Psalm 43:1-5 which says,

“Vindicate me, O God, and defend my cause against an ungodly people, from the deceitful and unjust man deliver me!For you are the God in whom I take refuge; why have you rejected me? Why do I go about mourning because of the oppression of the enemy? Send out your light and your truth; let them lead me; let them bring me to your holy hill and to your dwelling! Then I will go to the altar of God, to God my exceeding joy, and I will praise you with the lyre, O God, my God. Why are you cast down, O my soul, and why are you in turmoil within me? Hope in God; for I shall again praise him, my salvation and my God.”

The pastor talked about how it seemed to David that men, God, and the devil, were against him, and then David started talking to himself, and his soul, asking his soul, “Why are you so downcast, O my soul?” And David tells us that if we focus on what Jesus did on the cross, and how He died in our place, we have Joy and delight, in Christ.

To David, this ment that he was downcast, and it seemed like everyone was against him, but he shouldn’t be downcast, because Jesus was with Him, and if we focus on how Jesus died on the cross for us, we should be Joyful, and Delighted.

Jesus died on the cross in our place, and when we pass away, we can go to Heaven! WOW! Can you believe that Jesus, the perfect, holy, Son of God, would die on the cross in place of all the sinful earth? THANK YOU JESUS!!!!!!!

There was three points to the sermon, 1 the problem, 2 the solution (the gospel), 3 the result.

Do you believe that Jesus died on the cross in our place?
