Hello, God has given me something in 1 Kings 20:42 which says,
“He said to the king, “This is what the Lord says: ‘You have set free a man I had determined should die. Therefore it is your life for his life, your people for his people.’ “
We are not totally set free, nope, not totally set free, uh uh, no way, notta, that has not happened, what has happened though, Is God has set us free, from sin, but He has NOT set us free from His pasture, He has kept us in His pasture, He has not TOTALLY set us free, He has set us free from sin, but not His hold, okay? Comprendo? Good, now that we’ve got that established, we should’ve died, but Jesus gave His life for our lives, He died for us, only (unlike Ahab) He did it willingly, He gave His life up, it was not taken from Him, John 10:18 says,
“No one takes it from me, but I lay it down of my own accord. I have authority to lay it down, and I have authority to take it up again. This charge I have received from my Father.”
Jesus laid His life down, for us, at the cross. Jesus actually laid His life down for us! WOW! Jesus, the perfect, holy, almighty, wonderful, awesome, Jesus, laid His life down for a bunch of sinners! Thank you Jesus!
But Jesus also rose from the dead, the death of Jesus, has no meaning without the life of Jesus, and vise-versu, if Jesus never rose again, He would be like any other dead person, and He would not be God’s chosen one, Psalm 16:10 says,”
“For you will not abandon my soul to Sheol, or let your holy one see corruption.”
But Jesus did rise again, and He set us free… into His pasture.
Peace and Love, Joy Cleveland
