Hello, God has given me something in 1 Kings 22:43 which says,
“In everything he walked in the ways of his father Asa and did not stray from them; he did what was right in the eyes of the Lord. The high places, however, were not removed, and the people continued to offer sacrifices and burn incense there.
WHAT!! Jehoshaphat didn’t obey perfectly!! How could he do such a thing?!? Well why do we do the things we do? No man is perfect, Jesus was the only perfect person, ever! He gave up His life for people who were crucifying him, Romans 5:7-8 says,
“For one will scarcely die for a righteous person–though perhaps for a good person one would dare even to die–but God shows his love for us in that while we were still sinners, Christ died for us.”
For Jehoshaphat, he still rested in peace with his fathers, but he still wasn’t perfect, and even if we do all the good deeds in the world, we can not be perfect, but Jesus, Jesus WAS and IS and ALWAYS WILL BE perfect, and He died on the cross for us, it says so in the verse above, “… but God shows his love for us in that while we were still sinners, Christ died for us.” Jesus died for us, He gave up His life, for His enemy, those who were crucifying Him.
For us, this means that we are still not perfect… alone. With Jesus living in us, we look like we are perfect, we still sin, but Jesus paid for our sins, He died on the cross for us.
Peace and love, Joy Cleveland
