Do not kill them, or us

Hello, God has given me something in 2 Kings 6:22 which says,

“Do not kill them,” he answered. “Would  you kill men you have captured with your own sword or bow? Set food and water before them so that they may eat and drink and then go back to their master.”

These men were sent to kill Elisha so that he could stop telling the King of Israel where the king of Aram was going to attack. So they go to the place where Elisha was and his servant asked what they were going to do, Elisha told him not to be afraid and then he prayed to God to let his servant see the chariots and horses. Then, Elisha prayed for the Arameans to be struck blind and they were, so Elisha told them that this was the wrong road and the wrong city, and he told them he would lead them to the man they wanted, and he led them to Samaria, then he prayed for God to open their eyes, and He did. Then the king of Israel asks if he should kill them, and then in the verse I quoted he says no, but instead to give them a feast. So it all worked out for the men od Aramean, and for the King of Israel and the king of Aram, because he stopped attacking them.

This reminds me of Mathew 5:44-45 which says,

“But I say to you, Love your enemies and pray for those who persecute you, so that you may be sons of your Father who is in heaven. For he makes his sun rise on the evil and on the good, and sends rain on the just and on the unjust.”

Jesus is the perfect example of that. He gave His own life for us, even for those who were crucifying Him. And we spit on Him too, just by sinning, it is like mocking Him, but He forgave us. He died on the cross for us. He gives us the chance to go to heaven. Why should we despair or be angry at Jesus, He gave His own life for us. He gives us joy in Him. It should be well with our souls, because Jesus died on the cross for us. Thank you Jesus!

We can now go to heaven, because Jesus died on the cross for us. Jesus saved us on the cross. He didn’t just set us free from our sin then let us wander off again, He set us free from our sin, He broke the chains of sin, then He put us in His pasture, and now He is taking care of us, even when hard times come, He is still taking care of us. Peace and love, Joy Cleveland
