Hello, God has given me something in 2 Kings 6:28 which says,
“Then he asked her, “What is the matter?” She answered, “This woman said to me, ‘Give up your son so we may eat him today, and tomorrow we’ll eat my son.”
This is horrible. Why would anyone give up their son to eat him? There was a famine, and a siege. The woman who told the other one to give up her son, hid her own. Then the king blamed it on God, so he went to kill Elisha, which didn’t succeed. This, overall, is a sad passage, but it points to the cross.
God gave up His own son for us. Even if this was for the something to eat because of the famine, Jesus is all we need. Jesus gave up His own life for us while we were sinners. Romans 5:7-8 says,
“For one will scarcely die for a righteous person–though perhaps for a good person one would dare even to die–but God shows his love for us in that while we were still sinners, Christ died for us.”
Jesus died for us even though we were sinners and we were crucifying Him. Jesus truly loves us, the cross is proof of that. You have to love somebody if you’re giving up you life for them, and Jesus gave up His life for people who, at the moment, didn’t love him. Thank you Jesus!
Jesus really loves us, He died for us, and now He is preparing a place in Heaven for us. John 14:1-2 says,
“Let not your hearts be troubled. Believe in God; believe also in me. In my Father’s house are many rooms. If it were not so, would I have told you that I go to prepare a place for you?”
Peace and love, Joy Cleveland
