Giving us gold

Hello, God has given me something in 2 Kings 18:16 which says,

“At this time Hezekiah king of Judah stripped off the gold with which he had covered the doors and doorposts of the temple of the Lord, and gave them to the king of Assyria.”

Temple: The king of Assyria had attacked, and captured the cities, so in order to get them back, Hezekiah offered him any amount of money he wanted for them, because the first time they got captured deported Israel and settled them in Israel. The money the king of Assyria wanted was 300 talents of silver and 30 talents of gold.

How is this?: How is this a picture of the gospel? Jesus is the door and doorposts, He was the temple with the gold (this is a picture), and He gave up His royal robes of righteousness, and those crucifying Him stripped Him of glory, though it seemed like they were the ones forcing Him to give it up, He gave it up on His own. Jesus gave US His wonderful red robes of righteousness. He saved us on the cross, and set us free into His pasture, with a new nearly, perfect coat (nearly, perfect because we have flesh). Jesus gave up His own life, for us!?! We were wretches, horrible, ugly, mean, spiteful, hating, deceived, awful, wretches, yet the Son of God, the only, powerful, clean, sinless, loving, awesome, almighty, great, Son of God, gave His own life for us.

Closing prayer: Dear Heavenly Father, Thank You for loving me so much. Thank You for giving Your own life for me. Thank You for letting me know about how You love me, and how You saved me, Lord. I pray that I would love You more, and share Your love with others. Thank You for giving Your own life for me, In Jesus Name, Amen.
