Hello, God has given me something in 2 Kings 21:16 which says,
“Moreover, Manasseh shed very much innocent blood, till he had filled Jerusalem from one end to another, besides the sin that he made Judah to sin so that they did what was evil in the sight of the LORD.”
Innocent: Manasseh shed innocent blood, this is bad news for the Israelites. It is also a clear picture of the cross. If you go to: http://charitygcsblog.wordpress.com/ You should see a post about this only in Jeremiah 19 soon.
Gospel: How is this like the gospel? Jesus is the innocent blood. He was crucified on the cross, when He had done no wrong. He took on all the sins of the world (!) when He Himself had done no wrong. He took on all our pain, suffering, hurt, and sin, and He died for us, He crucified that sin, and gave us the biggest boost of our lives to get over the high bar set for us to jump over. He destroyed the law, you know, the one that says don’t do this, and don’t do that. THIS IS NO EXCUSE TO SIN ALL WE WANT! Romans 6:1-4 says,
“What shall we say then? Are we to continue in sin that grace may abound? By no means! How can we who died to sin still live in it? Do you not know that all of us who have been baptized into Christ Jesus were baptized into his death? We were buried therefore with him by baptism into death, in order that, just as Christ was raised from the dead by the glory of the Father, we too might walk in newness of life.”
Dead to sin: We are dead to sin, and alive in Christ. We do NOT need sin, we need Jesus. Jesus will help us, He will save us, He has helped us, He has saved us, and He will continue to do so until we get to heaven. He still tests our faith, but He never, EVER deserts us, we can walk off from Him, but He will never walk away from us.
Closing prayer: Dear Heavenly Father,
Thank You for loving me so much. Thank You for dying on the cross for me, and for setting me free from sin into Your pasture. Thank You for giving Your only son to die on the cross for me. I pray that I would be closer to You and love You more. Thank You so much for giving Your life for me. In Jesus’ Name, Amen.
Peace and love, Joy Cleveland
