Hello, God has given me something in 2 Kings 23:24 which says,
“Moreover, Josiah put away the mediums and the necromancers and the household gods and the idols and all the abominations that were seen in the land of Judah and in Jerusalem, that he might establish the words of the law that were written in the book that Hilkiah the priest found in the house of the LORD.”
Josiah: Josiah was an awesome king. Verse 25 of 2 Kings 23 says that there was no king like Josiah, before him or after him. None of them followed God like he did, except one, He isn’t in the book of 1 Kings or 2 Kings, and this king never wore an earthly crown made to honor Him. Who is this king…
The king: Now introducing the King of all kings, the Lord of all lords, the God of all gods, drum roll please, JESUS! Jesus followed God perfectly, and what did He do to those around them? He didn’t criticise them, even though He could, He didn’t strut around in fancy robes like the pharisees, He helped those in need. When they brought Him the adulterous woman to ask if they should stone her, (and setting a trap for Jesus) Jesus responded by saying that if anyone there had no sin, he could throw the first stone, and started writing in the ground. Jesus had no sin, He could have thrown the stone, but He didn’t. He saved her life, and then told her, ‘Go and sin no more.’ Jesus hates sin, but He has compassion, to draw those to Him.
Gospel: Did Jesus have a normal death and have a kings burial? No! Somehow the pharisee’s thought it appropriate to find a way to crucify Him. They hated Jesus, they tried everything to get Him to contradict Himself, or sin. But every time Jesus gave an answer beyond their comprehending. They still hated Him, and they held a kangaroo court (to find out what kangaroo court means go to http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Kangaroo_court) at night, and false-witnessed about Him, then they crucified Him. Jesus died in our place, He took on all our sin, and He died in our place. The King of kings, the Lord of lords, the God of gods died in place of a bunch of wretches who wer crucifying Him.
Jesus: Jesus died for us, He loves us so much that He died for us. We were wondering in our sin, and Jesus took us. Go to: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=fsp-WuZR40g To here all I have is Christ.
Closing prayer: Dear Heavenly Father,
Thank You for dying for me. Thank You for giving Your own life for me, and for loving me so much. I pray that I would be closer to You, and keep in mind how You died for me. Thank You for giving Your own perfect, holy, awesome, almighty, wonderful, righteous, life for me, a sinful, unholy, unrighteous, horrible, impotent, awful, wretch. Thank You for loving me so much that You gave Your own life, instead of criticising me. In Jesus’ Name, Amen.
Peace and love, Joy Cleveland
