Hello, God has given me something in 2 Kings 25:30 which says,
“Day by day the king gave Jehoiachin a regular allowance as long as he lived.”
Jehoiachin (part one): Jehoiachin was a prisoner. His dad’s name was changed from Eliakim to Jehoiakim. His uncle’s name was changed from Mattaniah to Zedekiah, and he became king. Nebuchadnezzar had taken Jehoiachin captive, then he let Jehoiachin out of prison and he ate with the kings, and he got a higher place at the table then the other kings there, 2 Kings 25:28 which says,
“He spoke kindly to him and gave him a seat of honor higher than those of the other kings who were with him in Babylon.”
Jehoiachin (part two): Jehoiachin is a picture of us. He was a prisoner, like us, we were prisoners of sin. Then the king had him brought to the table to eat with them, and he got a higher place than those of the other kings. The kings gave him allowance for as long as he lived, he made him honored, and spoke kindly to him.
Us, gospel: We are Jehoiachin, prisoners to our sin. We would die, the punishment for sin is death, but Jesus, Jesus took our place. He is the son of God! He still took our place on the cross. Jesus gave His own life for us, and He died for us. THANK YOU JESUS! He took our place on the cross, He took our punishment. Jesus died for us on the cross. The great, almighty, awesome, wonderful, powerful, hope-giving, Son of God, gave His life for us, bad, weak, poor, horrible, impotent, hope-needing, Sons of the devil. He gave His life to make us sons and daughters of God.
Closing prayer: Dear Heavenly Father,
Thank You for giving Your own life for us. Thank You for loving us so much that You gave up Your own son, whom You love. Thank You for taking us into Your family. I pray that I would love You more. I pray that I would be closer to You, and that I would be kinder to those around me. Thank You for giving Your life for me. In Jesus’ Name, Amen.
Peace and love, Joy Cleveland
