Hello, God has given me something in 1 Chronicles 2:3 which says,

 “The sons of Judah:
Er, Onan and Shelah. These three were born to him by a Canaanite woman, the daughter of Shua. Er, Judah’s firstborn, was wicked in the LORD’s sight; so the LORD put him to death.”

Judah: Judah’s first child was wicked, so God put him to death. This says that all sin is deserving of death. So the firstborn died because of sin. This in application to them, is just telling the Israelites that if you don’t obey the Lord, and if you do not follow His decrees, then God is angry with you. How does this point forward to Christ?

Gospel: There was another firstborn in the line of Judah who died because of sin. Jesus. He was the only son of God, and He humbled Himself to take on flesh, and was born in the line of Judah. But Jesus had no sin, so how could He have died because of sin? Jesus came down and took on all our sin, and He died on the cross for us. He gave His only life for us. He was and is the son of God, yet He died for us and made us sons and daughters of God. Thank you Jesus! Now there is no sin that can cause God to be so angry with us that He would kill us, go to http://www.reformedpraise.org/songs/modernhymns/there-is-no-sin-that-i-have-done/ To here There is no sin that I have done.

Sin: Does this mean that we can sin all we want? NO! Paul says so in Romans 6:1-4 which says,

What shall we say, then? Shall we go on sinning so that grace may increase? By no means! We are those who have died to sin; how can we live in it any longer? Or don’t you know that all of us who were baptized into Christ Jesus were baptized into his death? We were therefore buried with him through baptism into death in order that, just as Christ was raised from the dead through the glory of the Father, we too may live a new life.”

Closing prayer: Dear Heavenly Father,

Thank You for giving Your own life for us. Thank You, Jesus, for giving Your own life for us. Thank You for dying on the cross for us even though You are and were perfect. I pray that I would worship You more. I pray that I would be closer to You. Thank You for letting us be sons and daughters of God. I pray for those in China, that they would be so encouraged, and be able to worship You freely, and spread the good news of the gospel all around. I pray that we would be focused on the gospel. Thank You for letting us live, and for taking on all our sin. Thank You for letting me be able to know about the good news of the gospel, and I pray that You would help me to spread Your word all around, Lord. In Jesus’ Name, Amen.

Peace and love, Joy Cleveland
