Pasture

Hello, God has given me something in 1 Chronicles 4:40 which says,

“They found rich, good pasture, and the land was spacious, peaceful and quiet. Some Hamites had lived there formerly.”

Wonderful pasture: This is clearly a wonderful pasture with lots of beautiful land that is nice and peacefully quiet. A place where they’re sheep could eat happily. Where they could sit down and watch the sunset. So they found a nice pasture. God blessed them with a really nice place where some Hamites used to live.

Gospel: This points forward to the gospel. How? Well God will someday bring all believers to Him in heaven, like a wonderful pasture, filled with Jesus’ sheep, a wonderful sinfree place. But if we’re sinful then how can we be let into that wonderful sinfree pasture? Is it by our hard work? NO (Romans 3:27)!!!! Our works are like dirty rags (Isaiah 64:6) without Christs death for us. So how can we go to this place, if it’s not by works? By Jesus’ death on the cross for us! He died for us so that we can go to heaven. He loves us so much that He was willing and He did give His life for us.

Worship: What can we do now? If Jesus gave His life for us, what are we going to do? Worship Jesus! He gave His life for us, and He is God, so we should worship Him. God lets us go to His wonderful pasture, and He sent His only son to die on the cross for us. Thank You Jesus!

Closing prayer: Dear Heavenly Father,

Thank You for giving Your only son for us. Thank You for letting us go to Your pasture, and loving us so much. I pray for the underground church, that they would be glad in they’re suffering and worship You. I pray that we would worship You with all our hearts because You gave Your life for us. Thank you for giving me life and for letting me even know about how You gave Your life for us on the cross. In Jesus’ Name, Amen.

Peace and love, Joy Cleveland

Verses and passages:

No salvation by works, Romans 3:27,

“Where, then, is boasting? It is excluded. Because of what law? The law that requires works? No, because of the law that requires faith.”

“All of us have become like one who is unclean,
   and all our righteous acts are like filthy rags;
we all shrivel up like a leaf,
   and like the wind our sins sweep us away.”

Beginning verse, 1 Chronicles 4:40,

“They found rich, good pasture, and the land was spacious, peaceful and quiet. Some Hamites had lived there formerly.”
