Glory to God

Hello, God has given me something in 1 Chronicles 5:24 which says,

“These were the heads of their families: Epher, Ishi, Eliel, Azriel, Jeremiah, Hodaviah and Jahdiel. They were brave warriors, famous men, and heads of their families.”

Following God: These men we famous, brave warriors, but in verse 25 (1 Chronicles 5:25) it says that they were not faithful to God. Useless. Being famous or mighty warriors or anything that brings attention to yourself is useless without Jesus. Give glory to God in all things. These famous fighters were not faithful to God, and as we’ve seen before, that  doesn’t work out to well. Wonderful warriors are useless without God, He wins the battle.

God: Real good warriors can be made though. God can make people warriors for Him. He can put the strength in you to fight and win every battle, but He is really the one doing it. He deserves all glory and power and honor, and love, praise, and worship. He put you and me on this earth for a reason; and it isn’t to sit around doing nothing but saying you’re a christian when your life doesn’t show it.

Gospel: How can God make us mighty warriors, if we are sinful, and God cannot look apon sin? There had to be an ultimate sacrifice, something or someone who is and was perfect, that would satisfy God’s wrath. God is perfect and Jesus is perfect, because they are one, and the Holy-Spirit is one with them. I can’t think of any person who was perfect, so we need a sacrifice. Jesus came down and gave His life for us. He died for us, even though He was and is and always will be perfect. He came down and actually became sin, He didn’t just take it on Himself, He became sin for us. Thank You Jesus!

Application: How does this apply to us? God makes us wonderful warriors, and fantastic fighters. He gave us the Holy-Spirit to give us power. We now can fight for Christ, when He is the one fighting, and we can give Jesus the glory, because He died for us. Thank You Jesus! Jesus gave His life for us.

Closing prayer: Dear Heavenly Father,

Thank You for giving Your only son for me. Thank You for giving us the Holy-Spirit. Thank You for making us mighty warriors. I pray that I would love You more than I already do. I pray that those in the underground church would worship You, and someday soon be free to worship You anywhere. It seems easy to pray for them to rejoice in suffering when some of us are in our nice homes in a place where we are free to worship You. I pray that I would be closer to You. Thank You so much for becoming sin for us, Jesus, and for giving Your life for us. In Jesus Name, Amen.

Peace and love, Joy Cleveland
