Unfaithful

Hello, God has given me something in 1 Chronicles 9:1 which says,

“All Israel was listed in the genealogies recorded in the book of the kings of Israel and Judah. They were taken captive to Babylon because of their unfaithfulness.”

Taken captive: The Israelites were very unfaithful to God. They had so many bad kings. They worshiped a golden calf. Jeroboam started a whole line of evil in the kings, with a few that did right. They did so much evil, how could they. They just don’t get it, do we? We sin too. We are just as bad as they are. We may not make a golden calf and bow down to it. We might not worship gods of stick and stone, but we are sinful. We worship different types of idols, which could be a video game, a computer, a person, all these things could be idols. We aren’t any better than them. We’re all sinful. Paul says that the wages of sin is death (Romans 6:23). If the wages of sin is death, then why aren’t we dead?

Gospel: Romans 6:23 also says that the free gift of God is eternal life in Christ Jesus our Lord. Jesus gave His life for us. He lived the perfect life and He died on the cross in our place with all the sins of the world on Him. He died in our place. He loves us so much. He gave His own life for us! Thank You Jesus! He gave His life for us. We were wondering in our sin, and He still saved us. Jesus loves us so much.

Us: We are actually really alike with the Israelites. We are sinful, God saved us, we’re unfaithful, and God still loves us. So how does this apply to us? We would have been taken captive by satan in our sin, but Jesus came down and He died on the cross for us. He gave His life for us, we should worship Him. God sent His only son to die on a cross for us, and He is the God, we should worship Him.

Prayer: Dear Heavenly Father,

Thank You for giving Your son for us. I pray that I would love You more. I pray that I would follow Your example, and be kinder to those around me. I pray that I would be closer to You, Lord. Thank You, Jesus, for giving Your life for me. Thank You for sending Your only son to die on a cross for me. In Jesus’ Name, Amen.

Verses and passages:

Wages of sin, Romans 6:23,

“For the wages of sin is death, but the gift of God is eternal life in Christ Jesus our Lord.”

Beginning verse, 1 Chronicles 9:1,

“All Israel was listed in the genealogies recorded in the book of the kings of Israel and Judah. They were taken captive to Babylon because of their unfaithfulness.”

Peace and love, Joy Cleveland

  1. Great blog! Do you have any helpful hints for aspiring writers? I’m hoping to start my own website soon but I’m a little lost on everything. Would you propose starting with a free platform like WordPress or go for a paid option? There are so many choices out there that I’m totally confused .. Any ideas? Appreciate it!

    • I’m focused on how Jesus died on the cross for us, and became sin for us so that we can live.
As far as starters, WordPress has worked out for me.
Also, there is one choice that I suggest for your blog, the gospel! Jesus gave His life for us so that we can live. That is good news. Now we can worship Him, and talk to Him.
