Despised

Hello, God has given me something in 1 Chronicles 15:29 which says,

“As the ark of the covenant of the LORD was entering the City of David, Michal daughter of Saul watched from a window. And when she saw King David dancing and celebrating, she despised him in her heart.”

Dancing David: David was dancing before the Lord because they were bringing the Ark of the Lord to the place David had made for the Ark. But Michal was watching David. Michal was one of David’s wifes, but she was Saul’s daughter, and Saul was pretty angry at David. David still danced and celebrated because of the Ark of the Lord.

Our condition: We were horrible wretches, lost in the desert of sin. We were so sinful, there seemed no hope for us. We were lost, the devil had reeled in the leash he had on us, and we had willingly followed it. We had run into satan’s kingdom. We were best friends with the devil. We were lost in our sin, as good as dead.

Gospel: Then, a miracle came to life, Jesus. He came down to earth and became our sin for us, and He died for us on the cross. He gave His own life for us. He was the perfect son of God, but He came down and died on the cross for us. He became despised for us in our place. Jesus was and is the perfect son of God, yet He came down and died on the cross for us. Thank You Jesus.

Now: Now we are sons and daughters of God. Now we are the righteousness of God (2 Corinthians 5:21). Jesus made us His family. He died on the cross for us so that we can be more and more like Him. Does this mean that we can keep sinning? BY NO MEANS!! We have died to the sinful nature. We are the righteousness of God, we can’t be righteous if we sin, of course we have to sin. We have flesh, but we have control over our bodies.

Prayer: Dear Heavenly Father,

Thank You for giving Your own son for us. Thank You, Jesus, for dying on the cross for us. I pray that I would worship You with all my heart like David. I pray that I would draw close to You, and be kinder to those around me. I pray that I would love You more. I pray that I would stay strong in hard times. In Jesus’ Name, Amen.

Verses and passages:

Righteousness of God, 2 Corinthians 5:21,

“God made Him who had no sin to be sin for us, that in Him we might become the righteousness of God.”

Beginning verse, 1 Chronicles 15:29,

Peace and love, Joy Cleveland
