Hello, God has given me something in 1 Chronicles 22:1 which says,
“Then David said, “The house of the LORD God is to be here, and also the altar of burnt offering for Israel.”
House: David was going to have people build the house of the Lord after he announced where it would be. Why could God be there while the sinful human beings lived there? Because of their offerings. The Israelites had to offer every day, or when there was a celebration, or a holiday. They sinned every day like us, so they had to offer sacrifices every day, not like us. Because of the offerings God was able to live there.
Us: We were horrible, sinful, mean, spiteful, hatful, evil, selfish, vile, God-hating, can’t-see-straight, plank-eyed, devil-filled, hope-needing, little wretches. We sin so much, yet we don’t offer sacrifices. So, why aren’t we dead, if we’re sinful wretches?
Solution: Jesus is our solution! He came down, the perfect, holy, wonderful, loving, justifying, clear-seeing, beautiful, hope-giving, kind, God-loving, human-saving, almighty, Son of God, came down and died on the cross in our place. Jesus actually became sin for us so that we might be the righteousness of God. 2 Corinthians 5:21 says,
“God made him who had no sin to be sinfor us, so that in him we might become the righteousness of God.”
Application: How does this apply to us? Jesus has made His home in our hearts. He died on the cross for us to purify us, and if God opens our eyes and our hearts to Jesus, then Jesus will come and live in our hearts. He will live inside us, because He took on our sin, and became sin for us. Thank You Jesus!
Prayer: Dear Heavenly Father,
Thank You for giving Your life for me on the cross, Jesus. Thank You for becoming sin for us. Thank You, Lord, for sending Your only son to die on the cross for us. I pray that I would love You more, and be close to You. Thank You for giving Your life for me on the cross, Jesus. I pray that You would fill me up with Your word and the gospel, and that I would think of You today, Thank You for giving Your son for us on the cross, Lord. I pray that I would be kinder to those around me. In Jesus’ Name, Amen.
Peace and love, Joy Cleveland
