Hello, God has given me something in 1 Chronicles 24:19 which says,
“This was their appointed order of ministering when they entered the temple of the LORD, according to the regulations prescribed for them by their ancestor Aaron, as the LORD, the God of Israel, had commanded him.”
Regulations: God had a certain order that the people had to obey. Aaron was a priest, and so his children would br priest, and their children, and their children, and so on. Aaron had four sons: Nadab, Abihu, Eleazar, and Ithamar, but Nadab and Abihu died before their father, so Eleazar and Ithamar were priests. Eleazer had 16 kids and Ithamar had 8, so they divided them by lot. 24 people were to minister before God according to the lot.
God: God required a certain order, why? Because God was holy, and all mankind is sinful. In order for God to even look on them, they had to offer a sacrifice. So why don’t we offer sacrifices?
Us: We are horrible, mean, spiteful, evil, sinful, wretches, yet we don’t offer sacrifices, why? If we are evil, and selfish by nature, and God is perfect, then why aren’t we in hell? After all, we are horrible and sinful
Answer: Jesus is the answer! Jesus came down and became sin for us, and died on the cross for us on the cross. He died so that we may live. Thank You Jesus! He made us His co-heirs, and without Him we would be stuck. Jesus became sin for us, so that we may go to heaven.
Application: The Israelites had to have a certain order, but we don’t. Jesus died on the cross for us, so now we are sons and daughters of God. Thank You Jesus! Jesus died for us so that we can now be the righteousness of God. 2 Corinthians 5:21 says,
“God made him who had no sin to be sin for us, so that in him we might become the righteousness of God.”
Prayer: Dear Heavenly Father,
Thank You for giving Your only son for us. Thank You, Jesus, for dying on the cross for me. Thank You for letting me even know about how You died on the cross for us. I pray that I would be more like You, and follow Your example. I pray that I would be kinder to those around me. I pray that You would fill me up with Your spirit. I pray that I would draw close to You, and love You more. In Jesus’ Name, Amen.
Peace and love, Joy Cleveland
