Hello, God has given me something in 1 Chronicles 24:31 which says,
“They also cast lots, just as their relatives the descendants of Aaron did, in the presence of King David and of Zadok, Ahimelek, and the heads of families of the priests and of the Levites. The families of the oldest brother were treated the same as those of the youngest.”
The youngest: Aaron’s relatives did the same as his descendents, they cast lots in front of King David, and the youngest was treated the same as the oldest.
Us: Let’s says that the youngest was not treated the same as the oldest, and we were the youngest. We were sinful, and by God’s mercy He accepted sacrifices, for a while. God would unleash His wrath on all mankind! We would all die! Well, then, why aren’t we dead? If we are so sinful and horrible and mean, then why aren’t we dead?
Answer: What is the answer? Jesus! He came down and became the youngest for us, and made us the oldest, being sons and daughters of God. Jesus became sin for us, and died for us so that we might become the righteousness of God! Thank You Jesus! 2 Corinthians 5:21 says,
“God made him who had no sin to be sin for us, so that in him we might become the righteousness of God.”
Application: How does this apply to our lives? We were like the youngest, only not treated like the oldest, but Jesus came down and died on the cross for us making us sons and daughters of God! So we can sin all we want right? Nope. We are the righteousness of God, so we should live like it. We have flesh so we still sin, but we have control over our bodies because Jesus died for us, and made us the children of God.
Prayer: Dear Heavenly Father,
Thank You for giving Your only son for us on the cross. Thank You for making us Your children. I pray that I would draw close to You, and talk with You. Thank You for dying on the cross for us, Jesus. I pray that I would follow Your example, and not be afraid, but joyful to suffer for You. I pray that I would think of You today, and love You more. I pray that believers that are suffering would be strong in You. I pray that they would rejoice in time of suffering. Thank You for giving Your life for all people. In Jesus’ Name, Amen.
Peace and love, Joy Cleveland
