Hello, God has given me something in 1 Chronicles 29:9 which says,
Rejoicing: The Israelites were rejoicing because their leaders had willingly and wholeheartedly given to the Lord. Even David was rejoicing. The leaders had caused rejoicing among the people and David, by giving to the Lord wholeheartedly and willingly.
Us: We are horrible, sinful, spiteful, angry, faithless, ruthless, mean, God-hating, Jesus-despising, Holy-Spiritless, cruel, lifeless, God-less, horrible, wretches. We deserve to die and go to hell. God could not even look at us without a sacrifice. So if we deserve to die and go to hell, then why haven’t we?
Jesus: Jesus is the answer. He came down to earth, lived a perfect life, was beaten beyond recognition, and died on the cross for us. He gave His own life for us, so that we may become the righteousness of God. 2 Corinthians 5:21 says,
“God made him who had no sin to be sin for us, so that in him we might become the righteousness of God.”
Application: How does the 1 Chronicles verse apply to our lives? Jesus died on the cross for us, and now we can rejoice in Him. Jesus died and made the unrighteous wretches, righteous! Jesus lived a perfect life and died on the cross for us and made us righteous. Thank You Jesus!
Now: Now that Jesus has died on the cross for us, we can sin all we want right? Wrong. Jesus died for us, and made us the righteousness of God, and the children of God so we should live like it. Of course we have flesh, but we have control over our own bodies, unlike the heathen. Jesus died so that we can live!
Prayer: Dear Heavenly Father,
Thank You for giving Your only son to die on the cross for us. Thank You, Jesus, for giving us righteousness. I pray that I would follow Your example, and serve others. I pray that You would send a revival all over the world. I pray that You would open people’s eyes, and hearts to Your Holy Word, and that they would be able to experience Your love. I pray that we would rejoice in You today. I pray that I would think of You today. Thank You for all that You have done for me. In Jesus’ name, Amen.
Peace and love, Joy Cleveland
