Great people

Hello, God has given me something in 2 Chronicles 1:10 which says,

“Give me wisdom and knowledge, that I may lead this people, for who is able to govern this great people of yours?”

Solomon: Solomon is asking for wisdom and knowledge to govern the Israelites, God’s great people. By great, Solomon means many, God had made the Israelites as great and many as the stars in the sky. They were a great people, and that is why Solomon asked for wisdom. But since Solomon asked for wisdom, God gave him riches, and other things too.

Us: We are abhorrent, abominable, appalling, awful, beastly, cruel, detestable, disagreeable, disgusting, dreadful, eerie, fearful, frightful, ghastly, grim, gross, gruesome, hideous, loathsome, lousy, lurid, mean, nasty, obnoxious, offensive, repelling, revolting, scandalous, scary, shameful, shocking, terrible, terrifying, ungodly, unholy, unkind, greedy, penny-pinching, selfish, stingy, tight, tight-fisted, angry, cruel, spiteful, dirty, evil, hateful, ill-disposed, ill-natured, malicious, mean, ornery, venomous, vicious, wicked, wretches. We deserve to die and go to hell. God cannot even look on us without a sacrifice. So if we deserve to die and got to hell, then why haven’t we?

Jesus: Jesus is the most admirable, amazing, astonishing, astounding, awesome, brilliant, cool, divine, enjoyable, excellent, fabulous, fantastic, incredible, magnificent, marvelous, miraculous, outstanding, phenomenal, pleasant, pleasing, prime, remarkable, sensational, stupendous, super, superb, terrific, tremendous, wondrous, omnipotent, strong, Son of God. Yet Jesus came down and died on the cross for us. He is the answer to why we aren’t in hell. He gave His own life for us. Thank You Jesus!

Application: How does this apply to our lives? We were an “un-great” people, but Jesus came down and died on the cross for us, making us a great nation of people! The Christians. Jesus gave His own life for us so that we may live in heaven. Jesus also tells us to store up treasures in heaven, and one day all Christians will meet there as a great nation of people, and because God gave His only son to die on the cross for us. Thank You Jesus!

True love: What is love? 1 John 4:10 tell us:

“This is love: not that we loved God, but that he loved us and sent his Son as an atoning sacrifice for our sins.”

Prayer: Dear Heavenly Father,

Thank You for giving Your only son for us. Thank You, Jesus, for opening up the doorway to heaven and letting us be God’s people. I pray that I would draw close to You, and love You more. I pray that  I would be kinder to those around me. I pray that You would send a revival all around the world. I pray that You would open people’s eyes, ears, and hearts to the gospel, so that they will be able to experience Your love. In Jesus’ name, Amen.

Peace and love, Joy Cleveland
