The king from love

Hello, God has given me something in 2 Chronicles 2:11 which says,

“Hiram king of Tyre replied by letter to Solomon:

“Because the LORD loves his people, he has made you their king.”

King: Solomon was asking Hiram to give him some things, and one of the things Hiram replied with was that because The Lord loves His people He made Solomon king. Hiram says that God made Solomon wise. God gave the people Solomon because He loved them.

Us: We are horrible, mean, angry, putrid, stinking, God-hating, vile, ferocious, Jesus-despising, hating, hope-needing, spiteful, despiteful, weak, puny, stinky, wretches. We were lost in our sin. We deserved to die and go to hell. So if we deserve to die and go to hell, then why haven’t we gone to hell? Why hasn’t God just gotten rid of us?

THE king: Jesus is the answer. How? Jesus died on the cross, was buried, and rose again on the third day. How does this help? When Jesus died He took on all the wrath of God, because He had everyone’s  sin on Him, and when He rose again He became the king. God loved/loves us so much that He made Jesus king over us. T.H.E as I said before, stands for Trustworthy Hope-giving and Eternal. Jesus is THE (Trustworthy, Hope-giving, and Eternal) king.

Application: How does this apply to us? God loves us so much that He made Jesus king over us. Jesus died for us in our place, and was exalted to heaven being king over us. Thank You Jesus!

Now: Now, since we are washed in Jesus’ blood we can sin all we want, right? BY NO MEANS!! Jesus died for us, and made us the righteousness of God, and we cannot be righteous if we have sin 2 Corinthians 5:21 says,

“God made him who had no sin to be sin for us, so that in him we might become the righteousness of God.”

Flesh: Yes, we have flesh, but, unlike the heathen, we can control our own bodies. 1 Thessalonians 4:3-6 says,

“It is God’s will that you should be sanctified: that you should avoid sexual immorality; 4 that each of you should learn to control his own body in a way that is holy and honorable, 5 not in passionate lust like the heathen, who do not know God; 6 and that in this matter no one should wrong his brother or take advantage of him. The Lord will punish men for all such sins, as we have already told you and warned you.”

Prayer: Dear Heavenly Father,

Thank You for giving Your only son, whom You love, to die on the cross for us. Thank You for making Him king over us. I pray that I would follow Your example, and be willing to suffer for Your name. I pray that You would fill me up with You Holy-Spirit. I pray that You would send a revival. I pray that people would listen, and that You would open their eyes, ears, and hearts to the Good News of the Gospel. In Jesus’ name, Amen.

Peace and love, Joy Cleveland
