Found

Hello, God has given me something in 2 Chronicles 15:4 which says,

“But in their distress they turned to the LORD, the God of Israel, and sought him, and he was found by them.”

Their distress: The Israelites were distressed because they had not been following God. So they called out to God, and He answered them. God showed Himself to them. After that, there was peace up to the thirty-fifth year of Asa’s reign.

Us: We are horrible, sinful, evil, mean, spiteful, angry, despising,  God-hating, Jesus-despising, Holy-Spirit-revolting, wretches. We aren’t even trying to find God. We deserve to die and go to hell. We are headed toward hell, and the road to get there is swift. So, if we are so horrible, and sinful, and evil, and overall mean, then why haven’t we died and gone to hell? Why haven’t we gotten what we deserve?

Answer: Jesus is the answer! Jesus came down to earth, and died on the cross for us. Jesus actually became sin for us, and gave His life for His enemies on the cross! Thank You Jesus! Jesus even loved His own enemies (Romans 5:7-8). Jesus is the answer to our problems.

Application: How does 2 Chronicles 15:4 apply to our lives? It says,

“But in their distress they turned to the LORD, the God of Israel, and sought him, and he was found by them.”

Application (2): We were in distress in our sins, and we needed help. Then, Christ came on our behalf, teaching His disciples. Christ died on the cross for us. He gave his own life for us. Christ took on our sins, and died on the cross for us. Now, we can seek and find God. The curtain separating God from man, was torn in two, so that we can now talk to God.

Prayer: Dear Heavenly Father,

Thank You for giving Your only son to die on the cross for us. Thank You, Jesus, for coming to earth. I pray that I would meditate on Your scripture today. I pray that I would draw close to You, and love You more. I pray that I would talk with You more, and run to You when I need help. In Jesus’ name, Amen.

Verses:

Beginning verse, 2 Chronicles 15:4,

“But in their distress they turned to the LORD, the God of Israel, and sought him, and he was found by them.”

Died for sinners, Romans 5:7-8,

“Very rarely will anyone die for a righteous man, though for a good man someone might possibly dare to die. But God demonstrates his own love for us in this: While we were still sinners, Christ died for us.”

Peace and love, Joy Cleveland
