Cry out

Hello, God has given me something in 2 Chronicles 18:31-32 which says,

“When the chariot commanders saw Jehoshaphat, they thought, “This is the king of Israel.” So they turned to attack him, but Jehoshaphat cried out, and the LORD helped him. God drew them away from him,  for when the chariot commanders saw that he was not the king of Israel, they stopped pursuing him.”

Jehoshaphat: Jehoshaphat went into battle with Ahab, but he said, “I will go in a disguise, but you wear your royal robes.” So, Ahab wore his royal robes. Now, the commander of the army that they were going to fight, told his men to fight no one but the king of Israel. When they see Jehoshaphat they think that he is the king of Israel (he is the king of Judah), so they start attacking him, but Jehoshaphat cries out, and God helps him, for when the chariot commanders see that he isn’t the king of Israel, they stop pursuing him.   But the other side did win. Someone drew his bow at random, and shot the king of Israel between two pieces of armor. The king of Israel had the charioteer turn him around out of battle, and he propped himself up and watched the battle, then at sunset, he died.

Us: We are horrible, mean, spiteful, angry, despising, revolting, putrid, puny, cup-half-full, hating, evil, cruel, manly, worldly, bad, filthy, satanic, hopeless, helpless, wretches. We deserve to die and go to hell. God can’t even look upon us, we are so evil. There seemed to be no hope for us. So, since we are so bad, then why haven’t we gotten what we deserve? Why haven’t we died yet?

Jesus: Jesus gave His own life for us. Jesus is the answer. He came down, to become the very opposite of His own nature (sin) and die on a cross by those He came to save. He could have stayed in heaven, or said, “Ewe, I don’t like them, I’ll leave them be.” But no, Jesus gave His own life for us on the cross. Thank You Jesus!

Application: How does 2 Chronicles 18:31-32 apply to our lives? We were sinking deep in sin, and we couldn’t get out. We were stuck, then, Jesus heard our despairing cry, and He came down to earth, and gave His own life for us. Jesus saved us from our enemy, sin. Thank You Jesus! Prayer: Dear Heavenly Father,

Thank You for giving Your only son to die on the cross for us. I pray that I would draw close to You, and talk with You more. I pray that I would love You more, and have a great relationship with You. Thank You for letting me be Your daughter, and letting me read Your word. I pray that I would have a great hunger for the Bible. In Jesus’ name, Amen.
