Destroyed

Hello, God has given me something in 2 Chronicles 20:37 which says,

“Eliezer son of Dodavahu of Mareshah prophesied against Jehoshaphat, saying, “Because you have made an alliance with Ahaziah, the LORD will destroy what you have made.” The ships were wrecked and were not able to set sail to trade.”

Jehoshaphat: Jehoshaphat did what was right in God’s eyes, until he made an alliance with Ahaziah, the wicked king of Israel, and they built ships to trade with. When he did that, Eliezer prophesied against Jehoshaphat that He would lose his trade ships, and he did.

Us: We are horrible, angry, mean, spiteful, sad, hating, revolting, rebelling, putrid, puny, vile, viscous, ferocious, malicious, wretches. We deserve to die and go to hell. We are the opposite of good. We are horribly wrong. So, since we are so horrible, angry, mean, spiteful, sad, hating, revolting, rebelling, putrid, puny, vile, viscous, ferocious, and malicious, then why haven’t we died? Why haven’t we gotten what we deserve?

Jesus: Jesus is the answer! Jesus gave His own life for us on the cross. Jesus became sin, and died on the cross for us. Thank You Jesus! Jesus died on the cross for us, so that we can become the righteousness of God (2 Corinthians 5:21). Thank You Jesus!

Application: How does 2 Chronicles 20:37 apply to our lives? (This is a shadow) we are like Jehoshaphat, we have made an alliance with the devil, and he has made trade ships of sin, Satan gives us momentary pleasure with sin, and we gave him our souls, and all eternity. But Jesus came down, and instead of prophesying against us, He took on God’s wrath, and died in our place, crushing Satan. Now, Our lives are set for heaven, all because Jesus saved us.

Prayer: Dear Heavenly Father,

Thank You for giving Your son for us. Thank You for making us righteous. I pray that I would follow You Jesus, and give my life fully to You. I pray that I would have a hunger for Your word, and that I would draw close to You. Thank You for making me Your daughter. In Jesus’ name, Amen.

Verse(s):

Righteousness, 2 Corinthians 5:21,

“God made him who had no sin to be sin for us, so that in him we might become the righteousness of God.”

Beginning verse, 2 Chronicles 20:37,

“Eliezer son of Dodavahu of Mareshah prophesied against Jehoshaphat, saying, “Because you have made an alliance with Ahaziah, the LORD will destroy what you have made.” The ships were wrecked and were not able to set sail to trade.”

Peace and love, Joy Cleveland
