Son of Jehoshaphat

Hello, God has given me something in 2 Chronicles 22:9 which says,

“He then went in search of Ahaziah, and his men captured him while he was hiding in Samaria. He was brought to Jehu and put to death. They buried him, for they said, “He was a son of Jehoshaphat, who sought the LORD with all his heart.” So there was no one in the house of Ahaziah powerful enough to retain the kingdom.”

Jehu: Jehu was appointed by God to destroy the house of Ahab. Ahaziah had helped Ahab attack Ramoth Gilead, and he did evil in the eyes of the Lord. Jehu’s men also captured Ahaziah the new king, grandson of Jehoshaphat, and son of Jehoram. Jehu put Ahaziah and Ahab to death. But, they honored him by burying him, because of his grandpa, Jehoshaphat.

Us: We are horrible, angry, evil, spiteful, cruel, puny, pitiful, hating, despising, satanic, revolting, wretches. We are so evil, that God can’t look at us. We are bound for the devil’s kingdom, we were hopeless wretches. So why haven’t we died already died?

Jesus: Jesus is the answer! Jesus gave His own life for us on the cross. Jesus died for us! Why? Because He loves us (1 John 3:16). Thank You Jesus!

Application: How does 2 Chronicles 22:9 apply to our lives? We are like Ahaziah, dead in our sin, hopeless. Jesus saved us from our sin, and He gave us the honor of being called God’s children, and gave us eternal life. Jesus saved us from our sin! Because Ahaziah was the grandson of Jehoshaphat, he was honored through burial. Thank You Jesus!

Prayer: Dear Heavenly Father,

Thank You for giving Your son for us on the cross. Thank You for giving me such love. I pray that I would draw close to You and love You more. I pray that You would send a revival, and fill me up with Your Holy-Spirit. I pray that I would go to You when I need help. Thank You for giving me eternal life.

Verse(s):

Love, 1 John 3:16,

 “This is how we know what love is: Jesus Christ laid down his life for us. And we ought to lay down our lives for our brothers.”

Beginning verse, 2 Chronicles 22:9,

“He then went in search of Ahaziah, and his men captured him while he was hiding in Samaria. He was brought to Jehu and put to death. They buried him, for they said, “He was a son of Jehoshaphat, who sought the LORD with all his heart.” So there was no one in the house of Ahaziah powerful enough to retain the kingdom.”

Peace and love, Joy Cleveland
