Hello, God has given me something in 2 Chronicles 22:11 which says,
“But Jehosheba, the daughter of King Jehoram, took Joash son of Ahaziah and stole him away from among the royal princes who were about to be murdered and put him and his nurse in a bedroom. Because Jehosheba, the daughter of King Jehoram and wife of the priest Jehoiada, was Ahaziah’s sister, she hid the child from Athaliah so she could not kill him.”
Joash: Athaliah learned that her son, Ahaziah was dead, so she proceeded to destroy the whole royal house of Judah. If Athaliah succeeded she would put an end to David’s descendants, surely God wouldn’t let that happen. He didn’t. God didn’t let David’s line of descendants die off. There was one left, Joash. Jehosheba, daughter of king Jehoram, took Joash, who was one of the royal princes about to be murdered, and put him and his nurse in a bedroom, where they remained for six years while Athaliah reigned.
Us: We are like Athaliah. We are horrible, angry, mean, spiteful, angry, hating, revolting, vile, viscous, putrid, puny, satanic, despising, rebelling, evil, wretches. We are so mean, that we are dead in our sins and trespasses. God can’t even look on us without a sacrifice. We are overall bad.
Jesus: Since we are so bad, then why haven’t we died and gone to hell? Why haven’t we gotten what we deserve? Jesus! Jesus gave His own life for us! Jesus loves us so much, that He gave His own life for us ( 1 John 3:16) that we might become the righteousness of God (2 Corinthians 5:21)!
Application: How does 2 Chronicles 22:11 apply to our lives? Jesus saved us, and made the church His bride, the bride of the high priest, and daughter of the king. Now, Jesus sends us out to save the lives of others. Like Jehosheba, we are sent to give the gospel to unbelievers, while Satan remains king of this world. We are sent to be Jehosheba’s. We know what it was like to be an unbeliever, lost in our sin, so now that we have Christ, we should give Him to others. Jesus has saved us!
Prayer: Dear Heavenly Father,
Thank You for giving You son for us. Thank You for loving us so much. I pray that You would encourage me, and many other believers. I pray that You would give faith to believers, and unbelievers. I pray that I would draw close to You, and run to You if I need help. I pray that I would love You more, and talk with You more. Thank you for making me the bride of Christ. In Jesus’ name, Amen.
Love, 1 John 3:16,
“This is how we know what love is: Jesus Christ laid down his life for us. And we ought to lay down our lives for our brothers and sisters.”
Righteous, 2 Corinthians 5:21,
“God made him who had no sin to be sin for us, so that in him we might become the righteousness of God.”
Peace and love, Joy Cleveland
