Doomed to loved

Hello, God has given me something in 2 Chronicles 25:27 which says,

“From the time that Amaziah turned away from following the LORD, they conspired against him in Jerusalem and he fled to Lachish, but they sent men after him to Lachish and killed him there.”

Amaziah: Amaziah did what was right in the eyes of the Lord, but not whole-heartedly. He obeyed God’s word, at first, and then he started worshiping the gods that he had taken from the people he had defeated. When God sent him a prophet, he would not listen. He challenged the king of Israel to a fight, and Israel eventually accepted. He attacked Amaziah, and Amaziah’s men fled, Amaziah was captured, and killed.

Us: We are horrible, evil, vile, viscous, angry, hating, horrid, rebelling, putrid, puny, pitiful, wretches. We deserve to die and go to hell.  We are so mean, and evil, and horrible, that God can’t even look at us. We are stuck in Satan’s kingdom, hopeless. We are satanic. So, why haven’t we died and gone to hell? Why haven’t we gotten what we deserve?

Jesus: What or who is the answer? Jesus! Jesus gave His own life for us on the cross. Jesus loves us so much, that He gave His own life for us! Jesus took our horribleness, our evilness, and our sinfulness, and He turned it into wonderfulness, goodness, and His likeness. We can now go to heaven. While we were still sinners, Christ saved us (Romans 5:8). Thank You Jesus!

Application: How does 2 Chronicles 25:27 apply to our lives? We were like Amaziah, we were stuck in our sin, and we were going to die because of our sin. But, Jesus came, and He gave His own life for us. Jesus saved us out of our sin, and gave us eternal life with Him. Thank You Jesus!

Prayer: Dear Heavenly Father,

Thank You for giving Your only son for us. Thank You for loving us so much. I pray that I would love You more. I pray that You would fill me up with You, and help me to grow in You. Please help my unbelief, and help me to run to You. I pray that I would talk to You more, and find my strength in You. Thank You for giving me eternal life. In Jesus’ name, Amen.

Verse(s):

Beginning verse, 2 Chronicles 25:27,

“From the time that Amaziah turned away from following the LORD, they conspired against him in Jerusalem and he fled to Lachish, but they sent men after him to Lachish and killed him there.”

Still sinners, Romans 5:8,

“But God demonstrates his own love for us in this: While we were still sinners, Christ died for us.”

Peace and love, Joy Cleveland
