Pity and wrath

Hello, God has given me something in 2 Chronicles 36:15 which says,

“The LORD, the God of their ancestors, sent word to them through his messengers again and again, because he had pity on his people and on his dwelling place.”

Pity: The Israelites were horribly disobeying God. But, God had pity on His people, and on His dwelling place, so He sent messengers over and over to give the people God’s word, but the people mocked the messengers, and did not listen to them. So God put His wrath on the people. Nebuchadnezzar killed people, and captured Israel. Because they mocked God’s messengers, God had wrath on them.

Saved: Christians never experience God’s wrath, or punishment for sins. Unbelievers are punished for their sin after they die, when they go to hell. Christians go to heaven, while Christ has already taken our sin. It is so much better to never experience punishment for our sins, so why not come into God’s flock and feel God’s love?

What to do: Christians should do something. We worship Christ. We should also accept God’s messengers. The pharisees mocked God’s messenger. Jesus was sent by God, and the Pharisees mocked Him, and so did the people. The sinful, satanic people mocked Christ. We should worship Christ, and accept His judgement, and correction.

God: God is a wonderful, merciful God. He took pity on the people. He loves us. Praise the Holy name of God, praise His glorious name. Worship Him, and bow down before Him. Praise Him in any way that You can. God loves us, He is a Holy, and gracious God. Thank You God, for sending Your son to die for us (John 3:16-17).

Gospel: What is the Gospel? It is how Christ gave His own life for us. Jesus came down to earth, by being born of a virgin, He was mocked, beaten beyond recognition, spit at, hated, despised, and crucified on a cross. He gave His own life for us. He loves us so much, that He took our punishment. Thank You Jesus!

Application: How do we get the gospel from 2 Chronicles 36:15? We are God’s people, rebelling, but God had pity on us, and sent Jesus. Jesus came down to give us life. But, Jesus took our punishment, and died on the cross. He died for us!

Prayer: Dear Heavenly Father,

Thank You for giving Your son for us. Thank You for loving us so much. I pray that I would draw close to You. Please help me to love you, and long to be with You more. Help me to become more and more like You. Thank You for making me Your daughter. In Jesus’ name, Amen.

Verse(s):

Love, John 3:16-17,

“For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life. For God did not send his Son into the world to condemn the world, but to save the world through him.”

Beginning verse, 2 Chronicles 36:15,

“The LORD, the God of their ancestors, sent word to them through his messengers again and again, because he had pity on his people and on his dwelling place.”

Peace and love, Joy Cleveland
