Cyrus

Hello, God has given me something in Ezra 1:2 which says,

” “This is what Cyrus king of Persia says:

   “‘The LORD, the God of heaven, has given me all the kingdoms of the earth and he has appointed me to build a temple for him at Jerusalem in Judah.”

Cyrus: King Cyrus was a good king. After the Israelites got captured, and the former king died, Cyrus became king. Cyrus was just who Israel needed. He had the people set up a temple for God. He brought God back into Israel, or, God brought Cyrus, who brought God to the Israelites. All those who felt called to, came and helped build the temple. The people had God again, so their was peace.

Christians: Christians help each other, and there is peace in a community of real Christians. It is so much better to be peaceful in Christ. Why not come to Christ and live in peace? As long as Christ is with us, we know that we are safe in Him, no matter what happens.

What to do: As Christians, we should do things, the things we want to do. What Christians like to do, are Godly things, not sinning. We should worship Christ, and spread the Gospel. We should also help build the kingdom. The people helped build the temple of God, so we should help build the kingdom of God. We should minister to other people, in any way we can. We should build other Christians up, not tear them down.

Christ: Christ is the awesome, amazing, wonderful, loving, kind, gracious, merciful, glorious, holy, perfect, Son of God. Praise His name, make music to Him. Rejoice in Him, and love Him. Praise His holy name. He gave His life so that we might life, praise Him.

Gospel: What is the Gospel? The Gospel is that Jesus came down to earth, gave His life for us, and rose again on the third day. Jesus saved us from our sins. He loves us so much. Some people say that the Gospel is not important, and that we should move on. That is wrong. The Gospel is of first importance.

Application: How does Ezra 1:2 apply to our lives? We were like the Israelites, we had been captured in sin, but God sent Jesus (Cyrus) and He died and took our punishment. Jesus took God’s wrath, so that God can now accept us, and speak with us. Now, He loves us.

Prayer: Dear Heavenly Father,

Thank You for loving me so much. Thank You for sending Your only son to die on the cross in our place. Please help me to love You more. Please help me to grow in Your likeness, and draw close to You. Thank You for making me Your daughter. In Jesus’ name, Amen.

Verse(s):

Beginning verse, Ezra 1:2,

” “This is what Cyrus king of Persia says:

   “‘The LORD, the God of heaven, has given me all the kingdoms of the earth and he has appointed me to build a temple for him at Jerusalem in Judah.”

Peace and love, Joy Cleveland
