Celebrate

Hello, God has given me something in Ezra 3:10-11 which says,

“When the builders laid the foundation of the temple of the LORD, the priests in their vestments and with trumpets, and the Levites (the sons of Asaph) with cymbals, took their places to praise the LORD, as prescribed by David king of Israel. 11 With praise and thanksgiving they sang to the LORD:

   “He is good;
   his love toward Israel endures forever.”

   And all the people gave a great shout of praise to the LORD, because the foundation of the house of the LORD was laid.”

A great shout: The foundation for the house of the Lord has just been laid, and the people gave a great shout of praise. But many of the older priests, Levites, and heads of families wept, while others rejoiced.

Christians: Christians can enter the temple of God, we can experience the love of God, and the forgiveness of God. We can rejoice, because we can enter Heaven. Unbelievers cannot. They cannot enter the kingdom of God, because their father is Satan. Why not come and join us, and be able to enter Heaven?

What to do: As Christians, we do things. We worship Christ, and spread the Gospel. But, applying to this passage, we rejoice that Christ is in Heaven preparing a place for us (John 14:2). We rejoice, and shout that the Lord is good. He is good. We should rejoice in Him. Thank You Jesus!

Jesus: Jesus is a wonderful savior. His love does endure forever, not just toward Israel, but toward us. God is an almighty God, He saved Israel and us. He has saved us out of our sin. Praise His holy name. He is a good God, mighty, holy, perfect, and glorious. He loves us so much, no matter what happens. He is a good God, praise His holy name for all that He had done for us. Thank You Jesus!

Application: How does Ezra 3:10-11 apply to our lives? Some of the Israelites rejoiced because of God’s house, they were very happy, knowing that God would live there. When Jesus gave His life for us, He made it so that God can live in our hearts, so we should rejoice. We have Jesus in our hearts, and now, we can rejoice.

Gospel: What is the Gospel? It is how Jesus came down, and gave His life on the cross for us, saving us. He came down, and died on the cross, He took on all our sin, and became the perfect sacrifice for us.

Prayer: Dear Heavenly Father,

Thank You for dying on the cross for us. Thank You for loving us so much. Please help us to rejoice in You. Please help me to love You more, and draw close to You. Help me to run to You. Thank You for making me Your daughter. Thank You for us Your home. In Jesus’ name, Amen.

Verse(s):

Preparing a place, John 14:2,

“My Father’s house has many rooms; if that were not so, would I have told you that I am going there to prepare a place for you?”

Beginning verse, Ezra 3:10-11,

“When the builders laid the foundation of the temple of the LORD, the priests in their vestments and with trumpets, and the Levites (the sons of Asaph) with cymbals, took their places to praise the LORD, as prescribed by David king of Israel. 11 With praise and thanksgiving they sang to the LORD:

   “He is good;
   his love toward Israel endures forever.”

   And all the people gave a great shout of praise to the LORD, because the foundation of the house of the LORD was laid.”

Peace and love, Joy Cleveland
