Intimidate

Hello, God has given me something in Nehemiah 6:19 which says,

“Moreover, they kept reporting to me his good deeds and then telling him what I said. And Tobiah sent letters to intimidate me.”

Letters: Nehemiah’s enemy sent letters to intimidate him. Tobia heard about the wall being completed, and so did others. The surrounding people became fearful. They lost their self-confidence, because they knew that the work had been done with the help of Nehemiah’s God. And Tobia sent letters to Nehemiah to intimidate him. The enemy tried to intimidate Nehemiah.

Christians: Christians fight battles. But we have a refuge to run to, and His name is Jesus. He rescues us. He has saved us from our sins. Why not come, and be saved? He can and will save you, just ask Him. He will rescue you out of the hand of Satan, and give you new life. He helped Nehemiah build the wall, He can help you too. He will save you. Ask him today, and run to the one and only savior for and everlasting refuge of love. He has given us eternal life, so why not accept it? Why not become a Christian, and come to Him? He will love you.

What to do: Here is one thing, in application to this passage, that we are to do as Christians: Run to the refuge. This passage doesn’t say that Nehemiah ran for refuge, but he somehow withstood his enemy, who tried to intimidate him. His God was the God, and that made other afraid, so he did go to God. God helped him withstand evil letters. He stood strong against them. We can stand strong against our enemy too, if we stand strong in Christ. He is the only way to be more than a conqueror (Romans 8:37).

God: God is amazing, and almighty. He is loving and kind. He will save us. He is our refuge, and we can go to him when Satan tempts us. He is our strong tower and refuge. Thank Him. Love Him, for He gave His own son that we might be saved. He loved us so much that He sent His own son to rescue us from our sins. Thank You, Lord. Thank Jesus, for He gave His own life that we might be saved. He became the atoning sacrifice that saved us from our sins. He died to set us free. Thank You, Jesus!

Application: How does Nehemiah 6:19 apply to us? Satan can intimidate us, like Nehemiah’s enemy sent letters to intimidate Him. But, we have a refuge to withstand. Jesus. He can save us, and He does. He keeps us strong until we’ve finished our good work in Him. He saves us, and keeps us strong in time of temptation, and fear. Our enemy is well equipped with weapons of fear, and temptation. But, our refuge, Jesus, is even stronger, and He helps us to stand strong. In Him we can stand strong, and fight our enemy!

Prayer: Dear Heavenly Father,

Thank You for sending Your son for us. Thank You for loving us. Please help me to draw close to You. Please help me to love You more, and long to be with You. Please help me to grow in You, and rejoice in You. Please help me to come to You for refuge. Please strengthen me, and other believers. Please send a revival, and help unbelievers all over the world come to know and love You very much. Please encourage believers in rural areas where they are not accepted. Please help them to continue strong. In Jesus’ name, Amen.

Verse(s):

Peace and love, Joy Cleveland
