Volunteers

Hello, here is a verse that kind of stuck out at me, it is Nehemiah 11:2 which says,

“The people commended all who volunteered to live in Jerusalem.”

Lots: The people were casting lots to see who would go to Jerusalem. They also commended those who volunteered to live there. Then it goes on to list all the people who went.

Christians: Christians are saved. We are going to go to the New Jerusalem, or heaven. So, Why not come with us? Why not be saved, and enjoy the joy that God gives? He has given His son to save us from our sins, so why not be saved? Why not trust in the way, and go through Him to the New Jerusalem? Jesus will love you, and save you. He is so loving and kind, He even gave His own life for me and you. So why not come, and be a part of His flock? He is the Good Shepherd, and even if one is lost, He will go out to rescue it. We are like the sheep, Jesus is our shepherd, and He will rescue us from the mouth of a wolf. He loves so much. So, why not be saved?

What to do: Here is one thing that we are to do as Christians: Share the Good news of the Gospel. We need to help others see the Gospel. Others are still drowning in sins, they still need help. So, we should share with them the Gospel. We should throw them the life¬†preserver of the Gospel. We also need to build one another up in the scripture. We should help each other up if the other one falls. Jesus has saved us, so we should also help other. Let’s spread the Gospel, and help others.

God: God is so good, and loving. He has given His own son for us. Thank You, Lord. Praise His holy name. Give thanks, for He has loved us so much. He has given His own son for a world full of wretches. He has loved us so much. Praise Him with all your heart, soul, mind, and strength. Jesus has given us so much. He has given His own life for us on the cross. He became the perfect, holy, atoning sacrifice for the world. He saved the wretched. He has saved us, by giving His life for us. Thank You, Jesus!

Application: How does Nehemiah 11:2 apply to us? Some people volunteered to go to Jerusalem. Jesus volunteered to come down to earth, and give His life for us. He gave His own life for us, and He has saved us from us. Jesus volunteered to die for us, but He was not commended as He did it. He was scoffed, and mocked. He was spit at, and beaten. He was beaten beyond recognition, and then crucified on a Roman torcher stick. He endured all that for us. Thank You, Jesus! He has done so much for us, and Has given His own life for us.

Prayer: Dear Heavenly Father,

Thank You for doing so much for me. Thank You for loving me. Please help me to draw close to You and love You more. Please help me to grow in You, and more like You. Thank You for giving Your own son for me. Please strengthen me in You. Please strengthen others, and send a revival. Please help unbelievers to see You, know You, and love You. Thank You for making me Your child. Please increase my faith, and help me to long to be with You. In Jesus’ name, Amen.
