Rejoicing heard far away

Hello, God has given me something in Nehemiah 12:43 which says,

“And on that day they offered great sacrifices, rejoicing because God had given them great joy. The women and children also rejoiced. The sound of rejoicing in Jerusalem could be heard far away.”

Heard: The people all rejoicing on the day that they offered great sacrifices. They rejoiced because God had given them great joy. The women and children rejoiced too. The people rejoiced so much, that the sound of  rejoicing could be heard far away. God had given them great joy.  Some joy can only be given by God.

Christians: Christians experience God’s given joy. We are saved. Why not join  us? Why not experience joy. God can and will save you. We had been tied up by the ropes of sin, and then bound by the chains of wrong-doing. There seemed no hope for us. We would die in our sins and trespasses. But then, a shining light came. He was amazing. He came and took our chains, and ropes off of us, and on Himself. Then, He took our death penalty on Himself, and died in our place. He gave us His robes, and we became pure. We were/are loved by God. So, why not come and join us? Why not be loved by God?

What to do: Here is one thing, in application to this passage, that we are to do as Christians: Rejoice in Christ. Jesus has given His own life for us on the cross, we should sit around doing as we please, and forgetting about what our savior did. We should rejoice in Him, and then spread the Good news of the Gospel around to others. We need to help others see that Christ Jesus has died in their place. Rejoice! For we know that Jesus loves us.

God: God is so good. He loves us so much. He is so kind, and loving. Praise Him, our blessed Redeemer. Give thanks to Him with a grateful heart, for He has loved us so much, and has given us His own son. He has loved us, and He loves us more than any man or woman ever could. He has given us His only son, whom He loved/loves, to die for a world full of sinning sinners. He has cleansed us and made us new. Give thanks to Him, for all that He has done for us.

Application: How does Nehemiah 12:43 apply to us? God had given the Israelites so much joy, that the rejoicing could be heard far away. He has given them joy. God has given us a reason to rejoice too. He has given His only son to die on the cross for us, and make us new creation in Him. Rejoice! For He loves us so much. He has given us so many reasons to rejoice. Jesus has given His own life for us, to make us new (2 Corinthians 5:17). He has made us clean! Rejoice in Christ!

Prayer: Dear Heavenly Father,

Thank You for doing so much for me. Thank You for giving me so much joy. Please help me to love You more. Please give me new joy in You every day. Please draw we close to You, and help me to rejoice in You. I pray that I would grow in You more, and help me to grow more and more like You. Thank You for giving Your own son for me on the Cross. Thank You for making me Your daughter. Please strengthen me, and help me to love You more. In Jesus’ name, Amen.

Verse(s):

New creation, 2 Corinthians 5:17,

“Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, the new creation has come: The old has gone, the new is here!”

Beginning verse, Nehemiah 12:43,

“And on that day they offered great sacrifices, rejoicing because God had given them great joy. The women and children also rejoiced. The sound of rejoicing in Jerusalem could be heard far away.”

Peace and love, Joy Cleveland
