Honor

Hello, God has given me something in 6:10 which says,

““Go at once,” the king commanded Haman. “Get the robe and the horse and do just as you have suggested for Mordecai the Jew, who sits at the king’s gate. Do not neglect anything you have recommended.””

Mordecai: One night the King couldn’t sleep, so he ordered the book of chronicles, of his reign, to be read to him. There he heard that it was recorded that Mordecai had saved the king’s life from assassination. He asked what had been done to honor Mordecai, and they said nothing had been done. So, he asked if anyone was in the courts. Now, Haman was in the outer court, he had come to ask the king about impaling Mordecai on a pole. The king asked Haman what should be done for a man the King wants to honor. Haman thought to himself, “Who is there that the king would rather honor than me?” So he told the king to do some wonderful things for the man he wanted to honor, like: Get a horse the king has ridden, and a robe the king has worn. Entrust them to the man, and robe him in the robe. Then lead him through the streets calling out, “This is what is done for the man the king delights to honor!” So, the King told Haman to do that for Mordecai.

Christians: Christians are saved. We are saved from sin, and from death from sin. Jesus has taken our sins. But, unbelievers are not saved. They are not saved from death by sins. If you are an unbeliever, then why don’t you become saved from sins? Why don’t you be saved, and go to Heaven? Why not experience God’s joy? Why not let the Shepherd pick you up, out of the mouth of the wolf?

What to do: Here is one thing that we are supposed to do as Christians: Give glory, and honor to God. God is worthy of praise, and we aren’t. We need to give the glory to God, and honor Him. Sometimes we stumble and may think that we are worthy of honor, and praise, but we aren’t. God is the only one truly worthy of praise. If people compliment your writing on the Bible, then give the glory and honor to God. He speaks through us. We did not come up with the writing, God wrote in through us.

God: God is so good, and He is worthy of honor. He has loved us so much, and He has given His only son for us on the cross. Praise Him, and love Him. Give Him the honor. Jesus has given His own life for us on the Cross, praise Him with all of yourself. Give God glory, and praise the Prince of Peace. Jesus gave His life to be our sacrifice, and make us pure and holy in God’s eyes. We are now God’s children, and we have been covered by Jesus’ blood.

Application: How does Esther 6:10 apply to us? Haman wanted honor for himself, he wanted to be honored by the king, but Mordecai was. Jesus deserved to be honored by God, but He humbled Himself down to earth, and gave His own life for us on the cross. Now, we give honor to Christ. He is worthy of it, so we should honor, and give Him glory. Jesus humbled Himself, even though He deserved it, and was worthy of it. Now, we should honor Him. Thank You, Jesus! We should not be like Haman, greedy for honor.

Prayer: Dear Heavenly Father,

Thank You for loving me. Thank You, Jesus, for humbling Yourself for me. Please help me to love You more. Please help me to draw close to You, and long to be with You. Please help me to grow in You. Please help me to be more like You. Please strengthen me in You,  and help me to be proud. Thank You for giving Your life for me. Thank You for making me Your daughter, and thank You for covering me in Your blood. Thank You for all the blessings You have given me. Please help me to be more thankful. In Jesus’ name, Amen.
