Mediator

Hello, God has given me something in Job 9:33-34 which says,

“If only there were someone to mediate between us,

    someone to bring us together,

34 someone to remove God’s rod from me,

so that his terror would frighten me no more.”

Job: Job said that what Bildad said was true.  He also asked how mere mortals could prove their innocence before God. He said, “If only there were someone to mediate between us,” if there was someone to mediate, then that would fix Job’s problem. But, then, there wasn’t. He said that he would be crushed. He said basically that he was going to die.

Christians: Christians have been saved from sins. But unbelievers have not. They are still in sins. If you are an unbeliever, then why don’t you come to Christ today? He can fill you with an inexpressible joy (1 Peter 1:8-9)! So, why don’t you come to Him, and be saved from sins? Why not come to Christ, and be set free into His pasture? Why not come to Christ. His death and Resurrection is the key to set captives free from their bondage of sin, and from their prison. Why not come to Him? He will save you, and He will make you holy in God’s eyes. So, why not come to Christ today, and be saved?

What to do: Here is one thing that we are to do as Christians: Share the Gospel with others. They need to be set free from their sins. So, let’s share the Gospel with them. Let’s help them to see the light of Christ. Let’s help them to see the Way, the Truth, and the Life (John 14:6). Let’s help them to see the one and only God.

God: God is so good, He actually gave His own son for us on the cross. He loved us so much, that He gave Jesus for us. Let’s praise His holy name for what He has done. Jesus gave His own life for us! Let’s rejoice in Him, and give thanks to Him. Let’s praise Him! He has given His own son to save us! We didn’t deserve to be saved, but Jesus saved us. We were horrible sinners, but He saved us. He died for us as the perfect, holy, atoning, sacrifice. He became our savior! Thank You, Jesus!

Application: How does Job 9:33-34 apply to us? Job wanted a mediator, to mediate between Him and God. We have a mediator. His name is Jesus! He gave His life to save us, and now He intercedes on our behalf. He mediates between us. Thanks to Him, we can talk to God. He saved us, gave us His Holy-Spirit, and now, mediates between us! Thank You, Jesus!

Prayer: Dear Heavenly Father,

Thank You for loving us so much. Thank You for mediating between us, Jesus. Please help me to grow in You, and more like You. Please help me to walk and talk with You more. Please strengthen me. Please help me not to be proud. Thank You for giving Your son for us. Thank You for blessing me so much. Thank You for making me Your daughter. Please help me to be more thankful. In Jesus’ name, Amen.

Verse(s):

Inexpressible joy, 1 Peter 1:8-9,

“Though you have not seen him, you love him; and even though you do not see him now, you believe in him and are filled with an inexpressible and glorious joy, 9 for you are receiving the end result of your faith, the salvation of your souls.”

The Way, the Truth, the Life, John 14:6,

“Jesus said to him, “I am the way, and the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me.”

Beginning verse, Job 9:33-34

“If only there were someone to mediate between us,

    someone to bring us together,

34 someone to remove God’s rod from me,

so that his terror would frighten me no more.”

Peace and love, Joy Cleveland
