Those With Clean Hands

Hello, God has given me something in Job 17:9 which says,

“Nevertheless, the righteous will hold to their ways,
    and those with clean hands will grow stronger.”

Job: As far as Job knew, what he was saying was true. Those who had clean hands, or were not wicked, would grow stronger. He also told them to try again, and that he would not find a wise man among them. He said that his spirit was broken and his days were cut short. He said that God had made him a byword to everyone. So, now we know that his friends haven’t been helpful, and he is not doing so well.

Christians: Christians have been saved by Christ’s death and resurrection on the Cross. We are no longer under the sin that once held us. But, unbelievers are still stuck in sin. They are still in need of Christ. If you are an unbeliever, then I have some good news for you: Jesus Christ came down to earth, and He died on the cross to save me and you from our sins. So, if you come to Christ, then He will pick you up and He will save you. Just cry out to Him, and He will rescue you from your sins, and hell. So, come to Jesus! Why wouldn’t you want to be saved from the sin that kept you in bondage? If you have been searching and searching for something to save you, and fill you up with hope and joy, then you’ve just found the answer: Jesus! He will love you, and He will fill you with joy (1 Peter 1:18-19)! Why wouldn’t you want to come to Christ and be saved from sins? So, come to Christ, and He will save you! Jesus gave His life for you and me.

What to do: Here is one thing that we are to do as Christians: Help unbelievers! Others are still out there, and they need help. So, let’s help them to see Christ. If they see Him, and reach out a little, Christ will pick them up, and save them from their sins! Let’s help others,  they still need help. They might be searching for something to fill them up, so let’s go out and spread the good news. We also need to come to God every day for grace. We need to be filled up with grace.

God: God is so good that He gave His own son for us! Let’s praise and worship Him! Let’s give thanks to Jesus for becoming our sacrifice, and saving us from sins. Let’s worship Him, and give our lives to Him. He has saved us by being our sacrifice, so let’s give thanks and praise Him, instead of complaining. Give thanks with a grateful heart! Let’s rejoice in Christ! Let’s remember Christ’s death and resurrection every day! Let’s praise Him! Thank You Jesus! Jesus has given His own life for us, so let’s give our lives to Him, to worship Him and give thanks to Him!

Application: How does Job 17:9 apply to us? Job said that those with clean hands would grow stronger, as far as Job knew, that was true. But, Jesus was perfect, and yet He was put to death on a cross. Why? Because God sent Him to save us from our sins (John 3:16)! Christ was perfect, and yet, He gave His own life to save a world full of wretched, sinning, sinners. Thank You, Jesus! Christ has saved us! Let’s give thanks to Him and praise Him! He has loved us so much, and He has saved us from burning from our sins. He has become dirty, and made us clean in Him! He has cleaned our hands.

Prayer: Dear Heavenly Father,

Thank You for loving me. Thank You, Jesus, for cleaning me. Please help me to love You more, and draw close to You. Please help me to grow in You, and be more like You. Please help me to walk with You, and talk with You more. Thank You for giving Your son for me. Thank You for saving me. Please help me not to be proud. Thank You for making me Your daughter, and thank You for blessing me. In Jesus’ name, Amen.

Verse(s):

Joy, 1 Peter 1:18-19,

“For you know that it was not with perishable things such as silver or gold that you were redeemed from the empty way of life handed down to you from your ancestors, 19 but with the precious blood of Christ, a lamb without blemish or defect.”

Loved, John 3:16,

“For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life.”

Beginning verse, Job 17:9,

“Nevertheless, the righteous will hold to their ways,
    and those with clean hands will grow stronger.”

Peace and love, Joy Cleveland
