Calamity

Hello, God has given me something in Job 18:12 which says,

“Calamity(A) is hungry(B) for him;
    disaster(C) is ready for him when he falls.(D)”

Calamity and disaster: This is Bildad talking to Job. He asked when his speeches would end. He told Job to be sensible, and then they could talk (as if Job wanted to talk). Bildad said that calamity was hungry for the wicked man, and disaster was ready for him when he falls. The life of a wicked man would not be pleasant. He said that terrors startle him on every side and dog his every step.

Christians: Christians have been saved from sins, and from hell. We are free and we can roam in God’s pasture. But, unbelievers have not been saved. If you are an unbeliever, then why don’t you come to Christ? He will save you from your sins. So, come to Christ, and be saved today. Christ is mighty to save. He can and will save you from sins. So, if you are looking for someone to love you, and fill you, then come to Christ, and He will not only fill you with the Holy-Spirit, and love you, but He will save you from sin. So, come to the Way, the Truth, and the Life (John 14:6).

What to do: Here is one thing that we are to do as Christians: Help others to see Christ! Unbelievers need help. Let’s go out and help them to see Christ. If they reach out to Him, then He will pick them up into His loving arms, and He will save them. We can never be plucked out of God’s hand. Let’s help others to be safe in Christ. Let’s help them to see Christ, and stand firm in Him. Let’s help others!

God: God has given His own son for us on the cross. He has saved us from our sins. Let’s give our lives to Him. Let’s worship Him. Jesus has given His own life for us as a perfect sacrifice, so let’s rejoice in Him, and give thanks to Him. Let’s praise Him with all of our hearts, souls, minds, and strength. Let’s give thanks to Him, and and love Him. Let’s praise Him with all of our hearts. Let’s give our lives in devotion to Him. He is worthy of praise and of our hearts. Let’s rejoice in Him.

Application: How does Job 18:12 apply to us? Bildad said that calamity was hungry for the wicked man, and disaster was ready for him when he falls. That is normally true. But, perfect Jesus gave His own life to save the wicked (us). We were all sinful, and wicked, yet spiritual calamity has not hit believers. Why? Because Jesus gave His life. Jesus has made the wicked pure, and clean. He has cleansed us. He has saved us from sins, and made us pure and holy in Him. Now, God sees us as perfect. We are the bride of Christ.

Prayer: Dear Heavenly Father,

Thank You for loving me. Thank You for strengthening me in You. Please help me to love You more. Please help me to draw close to You. Please help me to walk with You, and talk with You more. Thank You for saving me. Thank You for making me Your daughter, and giving Your son for us. Please help me not to be proud. Please give me more strength in You. Please strengthen other believers, and send a revival. Thank You for blessing me so much. Please help me to be more thankful. In Jesus’ name, Amen.

Verse(s):

The Way, the Truth, the Life, John 14:6,

“Jesus answered, “I am(A) the way(B) and the truth(C) and the life.(D) No one comes to the Father except through me.(E)”

Beginning verse, Job 18:12,

“Calamity(A) is hungry(B) for him;
    disaster(C) is ready for him when he falls.(D)”

Peace and love, Joy Cleveland
