The Sermon

Hello, I’m posting on the sermon today.

Today my brother preached on Revelation 2:1-7. He said that God encouraged, rebuked, and then encouraged the church of Ephesus. He encouraged them by saying that they were hard workers. He rebuked them by saying that they had forsaken their first love (or God), and he told them to remember how far they had fallen. He encouraged them again by saying that they hated the practices of the Nicolaitans, which God also hated, so they hated what God hated. Finally, he said that we are more than conquerors in Christ in verse 7:

Whoever has ears, let them hear(L) what the Spirit says to the churches. To the one who is victorious,(M) I will give the right to eat from the tree of life,(N) which is in the paradise(O) of God.”

He said that we are more that conquerors in Christ Romans 8:37,

No, in all these things we are more than conquerors(A) through him who loved us.(B)”

So, we are more than conquerors, not on our own, but with Christ. He is the one who helps us to conquer sin.
