Rise Up and Bring Them Down

Hello, God has given me something in Psalms 17:13 which says,

“Rise up, Lord, confront them, bring them down; with your sword rescue me from the wicked.”

Here David is asking that God  bring down the wicked. He’s asking that God save Him from the wicked. He needed help, so he cried out to God. He is praying to God, to save him from the wicked. He knows that God is the one who can save, so he cries out to Him. If only all people today knew that the Lord is the one who will save us, not sin (drugs, alcohol, impurity, etc.). David knew that Christ is the savior, and he cried out to God, so let’s also cry out to Him.

We were once in sin, surrounded by evil, wicked people. We cried out for help from somewhere. Then, Jesus came down, and He died on the cross and rose again three days later, saving us from our sin! He has saved us! He has made us new creations (2 Corinthians 5:17).

But, unbelievers still need help from sin. They are still stuck in sin. If you are an unbeliever, then why not come to Jesus, and be saved from sin? Why not become God’s child? He is mighty to save, so, come to Him. Why wouldn’t you want to come to the one who will save you from your sin. So come to Jesus, and be saved.

Praise the Lord. Christians are to praise God, for He has given His son as an atoning sacrifice for us (1 John 2:2). He has loved us so much. Let’s give thanks to Jesus for He has loved us, and given His own life for us. Let’s rejoice in Him (Philippians 4:4). Let’s love Him, and praise His Holy Name! Christians should also share the good news with unbelievers, or they will go to hell (Revelation 21:8). We should help them to see Christ. We need to share the Gospel with them. We shouldn’t be Gospel hogs. We need to help them! Some people might say that its useless, because God will save them in their own time if He wants to. But, we are tools of grace to spread the Good News!

Prayer: Dear Heavenly Father,

Thank You for loving me so much. Thank You for giving  Your son for me, and saving me from my sin. Thank You for blessing me so much, and making me Your daughter. Please help me to love You more. Please help me to rejoice in You more. Please help me to love You more. Please help me to grow in You more, and be more like You. Please strengthen me in You. In Jesus’ name, Amen.
