Hello, this is going to be the last chapter in this “preview” of my book.
CHAPTER THREE, PRAYER
Prayer is talking to God. There is only one kind of prayer, but two. 1 is just talking to God then in Jesus name amen, 2 is maybe getting a note book to write down your prayer. Then ask God for what you need, then you listen and if you are truly speaking to God, He will answer.
“ The Lord said, “Go out and stand on the mountain in the presence of the Lord, for the Lord is about to pass by.”
Then a great and powerful wind tore the mountains apart and shattered the rocks before the Lord, but the Lord was not in the wind. After the wind there was an earthquake, but the Lord was not in the earthquake. After the earthquake came a fire, but the Lord was not in the fire. And after the fire came a gentle whisper.” (1 Kings 19:11-12)
What was God’s voice in? Please circle one below:
- A powerful wind
- Gentle whisper
- Big fire
So God’s voice was in a whisper, not an earthquake, or fire.
Prayer is when you ask something, or say something and he’ll give you what you need not want.
“And we know that in all things God works for the good of those who love him, who[a] have been called according to his purpose.” (Romans 8:28)
Question 2: What will God do for those who love Him? Please write your answer below:
God work’s all things out for good for those who love him.
Why would God create prayer? Because we fall and stumble in sin. When we fall, we need to cry out to God for help, like the Israelites did:
“During that long period, the king of Egypt died. The Israelites groaned in their slavery and cried out, and their cry for help because of their slavery went up to God.” (Exodus 2:23)
Who received the cry of the Israelites? Please write your answer below:
Have you wondered why we say in Jesus name amen when we finish praying? We should always say that, because if we don’t say a prayer in Jesus name then it’s like praying to God without Jesus’ mediation.
Prayer is a great thing that is why God made it. It is a way to talk to God, and pour out our heart to God. Prayer is not some silly idea, my family has experienced it: One time our family was running low on money and we prayed. After that dad went on a short trip and the pastor there handed dad some money. It really blessed us.
Prayer itself is a blessing. If you think prayer is ridiculous you’re saying that something that God made for us to use is ridiculous. Prayer is a crucial part of our lives, Paul tells us to pray in,
“And pray in the Spirit on all occasions with all kinds of prayers and requests. With this in mind, be alert and always keep on praying for all the Lord’s people.” (Ephesians 6:18)
On what occasions should we pray?
On every occasion we should pray.
