Preserving and Paying Back

Hello, God has given me something in Psalms 31:23 which says,

“Love the Lord, all his faithful people!
The Lord preserves those who are true to him,
but the proud he pays back in full.”

Here David is saying that God preserves those who believed in him truly, and He pays back the proud. David also told God’s faithful people to love the Lord. David was one of God’s faithful people, and he knew that God preserved those who were true to him, because he (David) had been “preserved” or kept alive. David was, up to that point, faithful to God.

God will keep us in Him too, because He sent His son as a sacrifice to atone for the sins of the whole world (1 John 2:2). He has loved us so much, that He saved us from dying for our sin, and instead died in our place and rose again three days later, leaving our sin in the grave! He has died in our place, and made us new creations (2 Corinthians 5:17)! We were proud, and we deserved to be payed back in full, but Jesus saved us, and made us true Christians. Now, we are preserved in Christ.

Unbelievers are not trusting that their sins have been atoned for by Jesus. If they are not saved, then they won’t go to heaven. Are you trusting in Christ as you savior? If you aren’t, then why aren’t you? He will fill you up with Him, and He will love you, and make you part of the family of believers. So, come to Jesus, and live. He will change your heart.

David said that God’s faithful people should love God, so since true believers are God’s faithful people, let’s love God! He has loved us. Let’s praise Him with all of our hearts, for He is worthy of praise. Let’s love the Lord! We have a reason to love and serve Him, so let’s love and serve Him!

Prayer: Dear Heavenly Father,

Thank You for loving me so much. Thank You for giving Your son for me. Thank You for loving me so much. Thank You for saving me. Thank You for giving me so many blessings. Please help me to really be more thankful. Please help me to long to be like You. Please, Lord, help me huger for Your word. Please help me to love You more. Please help me to draw closer to You. In Jesus’ name, Amen.
