The Sermon did have the Gospel in it! Pastor Bob preached about going to heaven.
Option #1 for getting to heaven is that Good people go to heaven. But there are several reasons wrong with that.
#1 Religious leaders don’t agree on what it means to be good.
#2 Our definitions of right and wrong have a way of changing.
#3 We don’t know from God how the scoring system works.
#4 Even the Bible doesn’t offer a gauge that shows how close we are.
#5 Jesus taught that the most religious people still weren’t good enough.
Option 2: Forgiven people go to heaven. There are three points for this.
#1 The life of Jesus produced my standered. (Mathew 27:19, Luke 23:4, and Luke 23:14).
#2 The Death of Jesus provided my substitute. A. Somebody had to pay! (Mark 15:34, and Mark 15:39).
#3 The Resurrection of Jesus promises my security. (John 20:8, John 20:18, 1 Corinthians 15:8, and 1 Corinthians 15:21-22).
Is this way fair?
#1 Everyone is welcome
#2 Everyone gets in the same way
#3 Everyone can meet the requirements
I think we can say it’s fair.
Peace and love, Joy Cleveland
