Hello, God has given me something in Psalm 75:10 which says,
“who says, “I will cut off the horns of all the wicked,
but the horns of the righteous will be lifted up.””
Asaph is clearly not talking about literal horns, but instead about the people themselves. He is saying that God says that He will cut off the horns of all the wicked, but the horns of the righteous would be lifted up. This only makes sense. Of course those who were righteous and kept the commands of the law would be lifted up for their righteousness. Of course those who failed to obey would be cut off, that seems like the right thing to do. Doesn’t that mean we should do the best we can to be righteous? Doesn’t that mean that if we are wicked we will be cut off?
Well according to man’s standards the common thing to do with a failure is get rid of it. If someone is wicked, or fails to match up to everyone else’s standards, then he is considered a lesser than everyone else. So that means we are much lesser than God. We cannot meet His criteria for perfection on our own. So, why have we not been cut off yet? Because Jesus came. He is perfectly righteous, thus He wouldn’t be the type of guy we would consider to be crucified on a cross right? Even though He was/is righteous, He still died on a cross. Why? Because He came to save us. A righteous man became cut off for our sake. Now the wicked have been lifted up to perfect standards. He has saved us from being cut off! Though it would seem unthinkable for a man of perfect standards to die for those who are not, Jesus still did it.
But, unbelievers are still wallowing in their pit of unrighteousness. They are still in their sin. Are you an unbeliever? If so, please come to Christ. He has given His very life to save you. He has been cut off in your place, you no longer need to bear the punishment for your sins, because Jesus did. So, come and believe in Him, and you too can be saved from your sins, and be lifted up as a child of God. Who could want anything better?
Consider what Jesus has done for us. He has saved us, given us the holy Spirit, been cut off in our place, and and made us righteous and lifted us up as children of God. He has saved us, so why would we not want to praise Him? Let’s exalt Him, for He is worthy to be exalted. Praise the Lord! Let’s praise Him, and give thanks for all the many things He has done for us. Thank God!
Prayer: Dear Heavenly Father,
Thank You for sending Your son for me. Thank You for saving me from sin. Thank You, Jesus, for being cut off in my place, and letting me be lifted up as perfect. Please help me to be more thankful for all the things You have done for me. Please help me to love You with all of my heart. Please help me to walk with You more. Thank You for blessing me so much. In Jesus’ name, Amen.
Peace and love, Joy Cleveland
