Hello, God has given me something in Psalm 97:10, which says,
“Let those who love the Lord hate evil,
for he guards the lives of his faithful ones
and delivers them from the hand of the wicked.”
The psalmist is saying to those who love God, to hate evil, because God guards the lives of his faithful ones, and God delivers them from the hand of the wicked. Those who are faithful to God are guarded by God, and before they are guarded they are rescued. They are rescued from the wicked.
We have been rescued from the wicked too. We were drowning in our wicked sin. We were in need of deliverance. Then Jesus came and He did in our place. We deserved to die because of our wicked sin, but Jesus came and taken our place on the cross. He saved us from our sin. He has loved us and delivered us, and now He guards us. We will still face the hardships of a Christian, but we are guarded from taking the punishment for our sin.
Another thing to look at in that verse is the first part. The Psalmist says to hate evil and love the Lord. Well, why can’t we still live in the pleasures of this world but still read our Bibles and go to church? Luke 16:13,
““No one can serve two masters. Either you will hate the one and love the other, or you will be devoted to the one and despise the other. You cannot serve both God and money.””
We are to love God and hate evil.
Unbelievers aren’t saved. They aren’t believing in what Jesus did for us. If you are an unbeliever, then why not come to Jesus? He will deliver you from your sin, and make you a child of God. So, come to Jesus and be saved from your sin! He will love you, so come to Him!
Praise God! He is so worthy of praise. Let’s give thanks for He has delivered us from our sin. Let’s love Him for He has loved us. Let’s praise Him!
Prayer: Dear Heavenly Father,
Thank You for loving me so much. Thank You for delivering me from my sin. Thank You for loving me so much. Please help me to love you more. Please help me to praise You more. Please help me to spread the Gospel more. Thank You for making me Your daughter. Thank You for everything, Lord. In Jesus’ name, Amen.
Peace and love, Joy Cleveland
