Mock for no Reason

Hello, God has given me something in Psalm 109:3 which says,

“With words of hatred they surround me;
    they attack me without cause.”

David is talking about those who don’t like him. But, this is very clear picture of Jesus. Look at Luke 22:63,

“The men who were guarding Jesus began mocking and beating him.”

Jesus was beaten for no reason. Jesus is the son of God who came down to earth. He lived a perfect life, and yet He was crucified for us! He was mocked for no reason. He was beaten without cause. He was perfect, but yet He endured the curse that would have been on all human beings,

“Christ redeemed us from the curse of the law by becoming a curse for us, for it is written: “Cursed is everyone who is hung on a pole.”[a]”

Jesus endured scoffing and beating for us. He died on the cross in our place. He saved us from our sin! Jesus was beaten for no reason, He was crucified in our place with our sin, and He loves us so much. Then He rose again on the third day and He ascended to heaven.

Prayer: Dear Heavenly Father,

Thank You for loving me so much. Thank You, Jesus, for being beaten and crucified in our place. Please help me to love You more. Please help me to give thanks more. Please help me to spread the Gospel to others. Please help me not to be proud. Thank You for all that You’ve done for me. In Jesus’ name, Amen.

Peace and love, Joy Cleveland
